NatWest Bank

13 High St, Bristol BS9 3BF, UK – 0345 788 8444

Westbury on Trym branch staff very friendly and helpful but can get very busy at certain times.Sadly more branches closing.

It's okay but shuts way to early on a Saturday's the people that work there are really nice and they quickly get through lines

72 Gloucester Rd, Bristol BS7 8BF, UK – 0345 788 8444

very good staff. very very help full and always have the time and try to help with anything they are able to. i have been very grateful of there time and advise in the past

Friendly bunch in here. Unfortunately, I once defaulted on a Natwest personal account so I can't bank with them as myself but as the shop, I find them to be friendly (sometimes especially so) and helpful and always eager to solve any problem. I also approve of the colour scheme which is professional and yet welcoming and easy, as opposed to being quite stark like Barclays.

Lloyds Bank

15 High St, Bristol BS9 3DA, UK – 0345 300 0000

Whenever I go into the bank the staff are always helpfull

Carry their self well smart in their uniform and of good manner.

Building Societies

70 Westbury Hill, Bristol BS9 3AA, UK – 0800 554 1411

I went in to open a student account and Adam was looking after me. He was absolutely spot on. He was warm, informative and couldn't have been doing his job any better.

Super friendly and efficient, can’t ask for more. Parking can be tricky as the main car park in Westbury-on-Trym can get very busy.

Cabot Circus, Bristol BS1 3BD, UK – 0800 554 0411

Good bank, nice staff

I had a long wait here once or twice, and once the adviser filled my ISA form in wrong so I had to come back in and do another one. Otherwise pretty good service.

54 Whiteladies Rd, Clifton, Bristol BS8 2NS, UK – 0117 948 9000

Great staff, always very helpful, rarely have to wait long. The local free 30 minute parking helps as well.

Very nice staff in this branch. Helpful and professional.

Dental Surgeries

Passage House Dental Care

227 Passage Rd, Bristol BS10 7DL, UK – 0117 950 3141

New to Bristol 8 years ago a relative recommended the wonderful, now recently retired, Tony Vallance whom took excellent care of my family and several friends. Now in the exceptional hands of Brad Hall, I recently had an implant and was truly impressed at his professionalism, manner and end result. Thoroughly recommend Passage House Dental Care.

I've just had my first tooth filling in 34 years, and I must say this is the best dental surgery I've ever been too, The 2 ladies were excellent i Didn't feel a thing... 5 stars all day long πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ‘Œ

Horfield Dental Care

525 Gloucester Rd, Bristol BS7 8UG, UK – 0117 951 3026

Two smashed wisdom teeth had been living, and getting gross, in my jaw for months. I finally broke and nervously got an appt to have them looked at. I cannot overstate how lovely the experience wound up being. From front desk, to the actual procedure, to aftercare instruction. Everything was so fantastic. I went private as I only had one day off work, even as such they saw me right away, and it was VERY reasonably priced. I was scared as hell, and Dr Philip Chan really set me at ease. The procedure was done quickly, smoothly, and professionally. Thank you Dr, and the whole staff. You have managed to change the opinion of a dentists office for this guy. From not even going to get bad teeth removed, due to fear, all the way to actually enjoying myself... and living pain free from this point forward. Thank you so much!

After my regular dentist had trouble extracting two of my teeth in preparation for a brace, Phil Chan was highly recommended to me by a friend, as someone who might be able to help. I was able to get an appointment very quickly with Phil and found the reception staff warm and friendly on arrival. Phil Chan is an amazing dentist! He took time to explain everything that had gone wrong & why with the tooth extraction and gave me a number of options to solving the issue. Both Phil & the Dental Nurse, Beth, were extremely kind - I am a very nervous patient and generally terrified of the Dentist - but they put me at ease so I felt comfortable undergoing another procedure to extract the roots. The extraction was a success and I am overwhelmingly grateful that I no longer have to wait 6 weeks for a referral to a specialist, as proposed by my original Dentist. Despite this practice being the opposite end of the City from where I live, there's no way I'd go to another Dentist now. Highly recommended!

Parrys Lane Dental Surgery

85 Parrys Ln, Bristol BS9 1AN, UK – 0117 968 1924

Incredibly impressed by this practice. I went for a wisdom tooth extraction and couldn't have wished for a more professional, skillful, and personable surgeon. I am nervous at the dentist, but he put me completely at ease. Couldn't recommend them more.

I've always been impressed by the dentists I've met here. Very professional , highly skilled and extremely knowledgeable about their field.

The Spence Group Practice

43 Nevil Rd, Bristol BS7 9EG, UK – 0117 944 0701

Humm, first impressions not great. This is my first appointment here and the receptionist was free but when i tried to check in she asked me my name and then told me to use the automated check in. I find this a bit peculiar/lazy. Why do people always insist we use the machines that are doing them out of a job. Im very happy to use the computer check in system - at my old surgery I always used it -but that was because there was always a very long que at reception. On the plus side the nurse was nice.

Pioneer Medical Group - Bradgate

Ardenton Walk, Bristol BS10 6SP, UK – 0117 959 1919

After the merger took place I was again very lucky to be able to be part of a great team of doctors nurses & admin staff who all gave a very high standard of care not only in the surgery but also out in the community.

Southmead & Henbury Family Practice Willow Tree Surger

1 Trevelyan Walk, Bristol BS10 7NY, UK – 0117 950 7150

A small practice with quite possibly the world's smallest pharmacy.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

St Michael's Hospital

Southwell St, Bristol BS2 8EG, UK – 0117 342 5325

Gave birth here twice. Two very different but complicated births. First time wasn't such a positive experience but the second time there seemed to be alot more support even though it was busier. I was a little disappointed about the lack of information about what happens next once I was on the ward. It all seemed very rushed.

Very impressed with maternity services thare. Staff is friendly and efficient!

Woodlands Church

Woodland Rd, Bristol BS8 2AA, UK – 0117 946 6807

This is really my home away from home! I absolutely love this place from the Praise and Worship to the Word of God, everything! Awesome just Awesome!!

Reviewing a church with an out 5 star rating system πŸ€” very strange. I hope no one uses this to actually decide if they want to go or not. It's not an entertainment facility, its a place of worship.

68 Northumbria Dr, Bristol BS9 4HW, UK – 0844 870 0118

Thank you Chris, Barry and Josh for clearing out my garage and basement. Would highly recommend Junkaway. They came on time and are very friendly and efficient. I would definitely use again.

Contacted Junkaway to clear some rubbish and for a garden tidy. Prompt service, fantastic communication and an absolutely incredible job on the garden clear in such a short amount of time! Would definitely hire again and recommend to anyone who needs any of the services they offer. Flawless. Thankyou!

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Bristol

wilks Restaurant

1 - 3 Chandos Rd, Bristol BS6 6PG, UK – 0117 973 7999

Can't fault this place and has just won best restaurant in Bristol, which is thoroughly deserved. Had the tasting menu and the wine flight on my visit and the flavours complemented together really well. Staff were very well informed and explained each course as you went through. The wine waitress was equally as informed on her wines. Love coming to this place and will be back soon

I went to Wilks last night with my parents. The food, as others have said, was excellent - extremely high quality and much care and attention had been paid to each course. However, I can't help but think there are other restaurants in Bristol which I would choose over this one next time I'm looking to celebrate a special occasion. Aside from the eye-watering expense, the service was efficient although quite aloof at times. It's a very formal affair compared to other establishments in Bristol and, for me personally, I missed the more relaxed feel. It really depends on what you like from a restaurant but if you're like me and prefer to be able to hold a conversation slightly louder than a hushed whisper and don't want to feel like you're being given the once-over by fellow patrons, I'd look elsewhere.

Greens Restaurant

25 Zetland Rd, Avon, Bristol BS6 7AH, UK – 0117 924 6437

Quite a compact place to eat but very nice food. Service is everything you want nothing more nothing less. Food came in an appropriate amount of time. Prices slightly more than you'd expect for a good steak or lamb, but very much worth it. Would recommend but not go back in a hurry as there are many other places to try on the same stretch of road and near by. Ticked this one off our list.

I went here with my family (8 adults + 2 kids) for a Birthday meal on a Saturday lunch. We were really well looked after. The food was very seasonal with lots of local produce, everything was delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough. It is also very reasonably priced (my sisters visiting from London couldn't believe it!). Thank you Greens.

Poco Tapas Bar

45 Jamaica St, Bristol BS2 8JP, UK – 0117 923 2233

We love Poco. This is a great little place in the heart and soul of Bristol. Poco is famous for its small dishes and excellent attitude towards food. The walls are covered in pictures and information about where the food is grown / reared in the areas surrounding Bristol and you do get a sense that they genuinely care, rather than it just being a gimmick. The plates are varied and delicious, well worth several visits to cover all the available options and ratio of veggie and meat dishes is balanced and all are delicious. There is a short but interesting cocktail menu, along with wines and the usual local beers and ciders. Last night's favourite was the tequila and marmalade cocktail: 5*. The seating at the front is very informal, some face the ever- entertaining people's republic of Stokes Croft and some are design for small groups to sit around on high stools. At the back is more intimate and cosy, with wooden tables configured to meet the evenings diners. Great for a romantic 2 or a party of 10 equally. Overall a great place with the only gripe being the wait on the ever popular cocktails. If it's busy, order drinks straight away or you food might arrive first. As ever, thanks to the team of knowledgeable and friendly staff at Poco.

Not your traditional kind of Spanish tapas meal, as they use local ingredients, but amazing nonetheless. We went on a Saturday night and had the set menu for 2, about 40 quid I think, which was a pretty generous amount of food (8 tapas dishes), and included some pretty impressive plates for a set menu, the mussels and pork belly were the highlights. Definitely worth a visit.

Nursery and Preschools

Red Bus Nursery & Pre-School

Westbury Ln, Coombe Dingle, Bristol BS9 2PR, UK – 0117 968 2009

From the outside its good from the inside it outstanding!

Lantern Preschool

Redland Church Hall,, Redland Green Rd, Bristol BS6 6YE, UK – 0117 946 4699

An amazing pre-school which my daughters have really benefitted from attending - it really helps prepare children of reception year. Very experienced, caring staff. The site was recently refurbished both indoors and out. I highly recommend Lantern Preschool!

My daughter loved the setting and staff here. Having struggled to find a good quality preschool Lantern surpassed all my estimations.

Mama Bear's Day Nursery and Pre-school, Oakfield Road, Clifton

17 Oakfield Rd, Bristol BS8 2AW, UK – 0117 974 2929

Our little boy attends Mama Bears Oakfield Road and we couldn't be happier with this nursery. The team are fantastic, very caring and nurturing, imaginative and huge fans of messy play (which is great as a parent who does not enjoy messy play at home). The nursery offers wonderful outdoor space which they use all year round, a ball pool room, sensory spaces as well as individual rooms for different age groups. Our son has flourished in this environment and loves being part of this nursery community.

My daughter likes a lot this place because she met quite a lot new friends. The staff is polite and gentle with the kids and during the week I feel safe about my little princess. When I pick her after work she has hard time leaving. And if you could have seen her in the beginning - she was crying not to leave her there! Definitely a child friendly place.

Badminton School

Westbury Rd, Bristol BS9 3BA, UK – 0117 905 5200

Badminton is a thriving global community situated in the heart of Bristol. It has a warm and homely atmosphere with excellent teachers who nurture and inspire the pupils. As well as achieving outstanding exam results year upon year, Badminton is strong in many other areas such as the arts and sports. The grounds are beautiful and leafy, especially in the spring when the blossom trees are in full bloom. Badminton is home to girls from all over the world, so is a vibrant melting pot of different cultures. Many students also come from in and around Bristol. Meeting people from around the world can give you experiences and take you places that you would never experience otherwise.
