Premier Inn Bristol City Centre Haymarket

Avon House, The Haymarket, Bristol BS1 3LP, UK – 0871 527 8156

A good one situated in a central location. Breakfast buffet here is very good with all the trimmings including black pudding. Rooms are clean and comfy. Staff helpful and always around. I've available at the brewers fayre bar upon request if you need it. A stone's throw from shopping areas and local pubs.

Stayed at the hotel for one night in March. What a great location. I could literally throw a stone to the shops. We parked in the car park of the hotel for 24 hours for about £8. I would advise on parking early as spaces are understandably limited. The hotel is really tall and is not one for somebody afraid of heights. The room was great. Newly refurbished in the Premier Inn-style. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Future Inns

Bond St, Bristol BS1 3EN, UK – 0845 094 5588

Excellent location, parking adjacent at cabot circus multi storey car park. Facilities as expected from a 3/4* star hotel. Rooms quieter than expected as its next to a v.busy ring road. Staff friendly, helped with queries and booking a taxi. Overall excellent value for money.

The hotel is really good for the money. Modern and comfortable with appropriate amenities (free WiFi, free parking, free tea/coffee and bottled water in rooms). Staff are very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure everything is fine. Also the beds are super comfy and the duvet covers are amazingly soft

Hampton by Hilton Bristol City Centre

Bond St, Bristol BS1 3LQ, UK – 0117 944 6888

For a Budget Hotel the Hampton is very very good indeed. The rooms are modern, air conditioned and well sized and the bathroom is good. In fact I would say that the beds are far comfier than next door at the Holiday Inn (which for a Holiday Inn is a good example). There is also a good little gym and a bar. The only drawback is that it feels like a school canteen for Breakfast, although the food is fine. There are usually for or five tourists scratching their heads in regards to using the waffle maker, which can be entertaining. I'd say for the price its great value and actually better than next door.

So far so good. Just arrived. Very pleasant and professional staff. Very clean. Nice room. Minimalistic but everything you need. Haven't tried the food yet but very simple menu. 4 or 5 mains. 3 starters. Bar is quite low on choice but adequate. Prices are reasonable. £5 for a bottle of cider. Parking is next door at a NCP. The hotel does give 25% off the parking total by validating your ticket before you depart. As said. So far so good. Breakfast not tried yet. offers competitive rates for any type of hotel, from small independent hotels to a five star luxury ones. Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Lazy Dog

112 Ashley Down Rd, Bristol BS7 9JR, UK – 0117 924 4809

Great dog-friendly boozer. Well kept cask ale and good hearty pub food with a good selection of meals and light bites to choose from. The chicken skewers were delicious. 'Lazy' fish and chips was good. Nice piece of pan fried cod (a bit small) and massive hand cut chips (close to roast potato size!) with tartare and mushy peas! Great stuff. The buttermilk chicken burger was awesome. Lovely big pub garden and neat little cosy booths inside. Good service. Will definitely visit again.

Very very friendly staff. Excellent food quality with plenty of tables inside and outside. It has a small front terrace and a lovely garden at the back with a wooden house for children to play in. During the week it has some evening events which can be found on their webpage. The Sunday roast is amazing. Really recommend it for a family lunch any day of the week.

Amazing food, nice drink selection and helpful staff. A suntrap in the summer and cosy in the winter. I highly recommend it.

The White Horse

24 High St, Bristol BS9 3DZ, UK – 0117 336 2701

Went there for lunch, Great menu.. Not just the usual. All very tasty, Great wine selection, decor spot on for a gastro pub. Staff very attentive and friendly

The most delicious food, amazing cocktails, topped off with incredible service from the moment you walk in through the door. Westbury Village finally has a pub to get excited about. Have been 3 times in the last month...slightly obsessed with this place!

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Clifton Short Lets

5 Westbourne Pl, Bristol BS8 1RZ, UK – 0117 923 7947

I stayed they for a couple of months while looking for more permanent accommodation having just got a job in Bristol. I stayed in two of the large rooms during my stay. Although they were slightly different shapes and had some different furniture, they were both very clean and a good size. The communal areas were also clean and well maintained considering the number of people using it. The self-check in was very convenient as I was arriving late on a Sunday and didn't have to worry about being late. I found all the staff were helpful and friendly when I needed to contact them. Overall It was a great place to stay and gave a great introduction to the city of Bristol with most of the major sights, good bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Clifton Short Lets is not a place for tourists. The larger rooms with kitchenettes are poorly equipped and the WiFi was slow to the point that it couldn’t be used. Me and my partner only stayed one night, out of the eight planned, due to what we believed to be mould. The first room we were given was located in the basement and had a distinct smell as well as poor facilities. For example, the window frame was rotting and draughty. Grease left on the kitchenette surfaces, as well as used review cards also indicated that the room hadn’t been looked at properly before our arrival. After being informed of these issues, a member of staff came down to have a look as well as offer a change of room. The new room had just been cleaned when we arrived which masked the smell we addressed in the previous room, it was soon noticeable again. We decided not to continue our stay at the Short Let due to these issues. However, the staff were friendly and beyond helpful. They did their very best to offer other solutions and after our departure they agreed to refund us for the remaining nights which was a nice surprise. If you’re looking for a temporary accommodation in Bristol, this is a good place for you but as a tourist I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

What a wonderful discovery. I arrived at 10pm on a wet and windy night and was greeted by the proprietor, who was so friendly and welcoming. My room was immaculate. My bed was extremely comfortable. The entire place was spotless and beautifully presented. Breakfast did not disappoint. It's a calm, quiet and relaxing place to stay. Highly reccommended.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
