El Colmado

57 Gloucester Rd, Avon, Bristol BS7 8AD, UK – 07507 972438

Fantastic Spanish shop selling everything from chorizo to Paella, beer to olives. Friendly Spanish staff welcoming one and all.

Went to buy something for 50th birthday party . ... with a Mediterranean feel. I was certainly spoilt for choice. A place worth a visit.

Divino Deli

1 Worrall Rd, Bristol BS8 2UF, UK – 0117 946 6401

Best coffee in Bristol! Run by delightful couple. Real Italian experience. Wonderful deli. Delicious food to go, or eat in at the bar stool style seating. It's tiny enough that you can chat with the lovely owners while you drink/snack or you can sit quietly and watch the world go by. Top up on your olive oil from their family's own land. Choose from a wide variety of olives and antipasti. Meats, cheeses, savory and sweet pastries and store cupboard treats and essentials. It's just a lovely lovely (little) place all round!

The coffee here is one of the best bristol has to offer. Nothing pretentious about Divino Deli, the food is fresh and authentic, plus the pastries are to die for! Service with a smile! Amazeballs!

Chandos Deli

97 Henleaze Rd, Bristol BS9 4JP, UK – 0117 907 4391

Really lovely staff with a great range of produce - it's not cheap but you get the quality you pay for. Delicious takeaway sandwiches and good coffee.

Very nice deli - not cheap, but nice for a treat and a great cheese and wine selection. They also do good coffee and cake.

Better Food

94 Whiteladies Rd, Bristol BS8 2QX, UK – 0117 946 6957

Mixed blessings. The food to sit and eat is on the whole amazing, really truly delicious fresh and tasty, with great vegan and vegetarian options, and the coffee is one of the best I've tasted in Bristol. However, downside are the rather brusque and haughty staff, who as another reviewer has commented seem uninterested in customer service and often have rather peculiar hair/piercings which is a bit offputting when you are trying to order. The organic fruit was very disappointing with no flavour and soft inedible apples. The prices are extremely high, and at that price I would love to have better customer service, but then this seems to be standard in Clifton to look down your nose at everyone. Also, I know it cannot be helped due to space considerations but the seating area is very small and cramped, I don't like being that intimate with strangers!

Staff aren't particularly friendly here on a few occasions I've visited. Nice selection of goods but generally expensive. So many times I've noticed a discounted item not come through at the till and show the full price which is poor.

Wild Oats Natural Foods

9-11 Lower Redland Rd, Bristol BS6 6TB, UK – 0117 973 1967

This place has an abundance of excellent produce. Huge range of loose grains, beans and cereals. We were very glad to see their seaweed selection too. Lots of great breads available in the bakery section. We'll be back soon for another round of stocking up on goodies. Thanks

Nice friendly place. Would be nice if they cleared the animal foods from their fridges and stocked fresh fruit and veg instead.

11 Gloucester Rd, Bristol BS7 8AA, UK – 0117 942 5997

A great place for organic and ethical produce. In addition to the usual organic shop goods, there’s an excellent selection of locally sourced, fresh and daily produce such as bread, cakes, snacks, cakes, fermented foods, dairy and fruit etc. There’s a self-scoop section for good quality nuts, pulses, cereals, dried fruits etc. Prices are competitive as far as local organic shops go. The quality is always good. Staff tend to leave you alone to shop but very helpful if you ask them questions or seek advice.

I have always liked harvest and their products. Although everytime l have bought items from there, when l get home l always seem to have forgotten one item l have paid for. Call it coincidence but this has happened more than three times. Im not sure if there is something unethical going on here, but l will make sure l keep the receipts in future. Anyone else had this happen more than once?
